Who put the canola in carotino oil? Carotino oil is a recent addition to a food processors cupboard of ingredients. Its a blend of red palm fruit oil and canola oil. Its red hue comes from the high levels of carotenes (vitamin A) that are naturally present. Carotino is also higher in vitamin E and omega 3 and 6 fatty acids than other oils, has no trans fats, is not hydrogenated and contains no artificial colorings or preservatives. Carotino oil has a neutral flavor and may be used cold for dressings or heated for sauteing and even frying. During cooking, the oil imparts a yellow golden hue to the foods as the carotenes are transferred into your cooked dishes. Sounds yummy!
